- La Cosa Nostra – Detroit Partnership
- Base of Operations: Port of Detroit
- Primary Enterprises: Loansharking, Gambling & Narcotics Trafficking
- Leader: Don Genietti
Ronaldo Genietti has been the official Boss of the Detroit partnership for twelve years, with the other partners alternating through the secondary leadership roles during that time. The Detroit Partnership rose in status after the Manhattan earthquakes and the Chicago hive required The Five Families of New York and the Chicago Outfit to draw on Detroit’s resources. There were heated arguments within the partnership during both of these catastrophes in which some of the other partners pushed for a power play within the North American organization. Genietti was adamant that on both occasions, the other families were treated as family should be, that the Partnership extend every effort to support them, even at a major cost to their own conflicts with the Steel Tigers, Yakuza, and Broderskad er Styrke. Genietti’s tactic has left Detroit in a unique position. The Five Families have recovered and are thriving in the remains of New York, while Chicago remains besieged by the gang chaos which followed the opening-up of the quarantine zone. Both sides owe major favors to the Detroit Partnership, and everyone knows it’s only a matter of time before he calls those chits in to destroy his competition from the other gangs.
- Emerald Mountain Triad
- Base of Operations: Brighton Beach
- Primary Enterprises: Prostitution, Talislegging, Weapons
- Leader: Feng Long
Emerald Mountian is an extension of the main Toronto tribe. They operate primarily in two locations: Troy, among the South Asian & Canton populations that have accumulated there over the last century; and Brighton Beach, a largely industrial area on the south shore between Windsor & La Salle, both of which have significant Chinese populations. Feng Long heads the Metro Detroit operations, which focus largely on trafficking narcotics, magical goods, people and firepower.
- Broderskab er Styrke – Detroit Brotherhood
- Base of Operations: St. Dominic’s
- Primary Enterprises: Extortion, Narcotics, Talislegging, People Smuggling
- Leader: Otto Mikkonen
Otto Mikkonen hails from the Scandinavian Union, where he was one of the earliest recruits for Broderskab er Styrke. Founded by Danish trolls banding together in the face of brutal racism in the SU, they quickly smashed their own niche into he underworld. Not traditional gangsters, most of the Broderskab found themselves with nowhere to turn as xenophobia ruled out conventional employment or lifestyles. Perhaps unsurprisingly, BeS has adopted many titles and symbols from Norse mythology, referring to themselves as “jotunn” or “children of Ymir.” They became ruthless, but disciplined, and it didn’t take long for the underworld to respect Broderskab er Styrke. Upon the formation of the Black Forest Troll Kingdom, BeS moved their base of operations there and began to expand further into Western Europe and overseas. Stymied by the powerful Vory v Zokane bratvas in Eastern Europe, they have since become vicious enemies due to competition and the long-held enmity between their home regions, particularly among finnish trolls. This rivalry has carried across the pond to Metro Detroit, and Mikkonen has been engaged in a long-running war with Arkady Dubnikov.
- Three Fires Council (Ojibwa Mafia)
- Base of Operations: Wapole Island
- Primary Enterprises: Talislegging, People & Gun Smuggling, Narcotics
- Leaders: Patrick Thunderheart, Annie Red-Feather, Artemis Storm-Eye
Three Fires Council consists of outlaw amerinds, mostly Ojibwa, that refused to leave the Michigan area after the Treaty of Denver did not result in an Ojibwa nation. Offered a place in the Lakotah and Manitou nations, most amerinds in Metro Detroit emigrated before the Unification. Those that remained were either too poor or too stubborn to leave. Due to universal contempt from the other side of the Ghost Dance War, they were essentially forced from Metro Detroit and Windsor. They consolidated on Wapole Island at the northeast end of Lake St. Claire and have since begun edging back into the metroplex now that decades have passed since the Treaty. The Three Fires Council is mostly known for magical contraband, though narcotics and people smuggling are equally profitable for them.
- Vory v Zokane – Detroit Bratva
- Base of Operations: East Pointe
- Primary Enterprises: Human & Arms Trafficking, Prostitution, Loansharking, Extortion
- Leader: Arkady Dubnikov
Arkady’s Bratva here is an extension from the east coast. He’s been working to establish his enough of a power base to advance his criminal career. To do that, he needs to eliminate competition in Metro Detroit. That competition comes from the Triad, La Cosa Nostra, and Broderskab er Styrke. Given the entrenched and well supported Detroit Partnership’s strong support, Emerald Mountain’s marginal overlap, and Mikkonen’s animosity towards his Russian and polish brethren, BeS has become his first target.
